3DMLW is a 3D Markup Language for the Web, it also contains visualization plug-ins. The scenes created with this language can be visualized in any of the major web browsers, being based on XML markup language. It is possible to visualize .3ds, .obj and .an8 files among others, and also apply textures to the created 3D shapes. The textures can be provided in .jpg, .tga and .png formats.
The program's installation process is very simple; it doesn’t require any additional libraries or programs. The installation wizard will ask the user which components to install - like plug-ins for web browsers and other additional content. The installation also provides an editor and a 3DMLW update program. This markup language can even be integrated into the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE.
It doesn’t include documentation; however on its website you can find some information on how to install the plug-in for the main web browser, write scripts, tag lists and attributes of documents in 3DMLW. Also there are some nice examples of what to expect from this markup language.
The language doesn’t have a GUI, but the code can be written in any text editor or any markup language editor following the rules and the easy syntax of this markup language. And the results can be visualized in any web browser.
3DMLW is open source software. There are installation files ready for Windows, Linux and MacOS platforms.
